Business Thank You Notes

Business thank you notes are a bit different than the rest of the cards you'll find here. You have to follow different rules, play a different game, and use less pictures unfortunately.

Since we're dealing with a horse of a different color here, you will just have to learn what to do. There's not really the usual fancy graphical candies but rather delicious brain bars. We'll show you the recommended way to do this sort of thing, and hopefully inspire you to throw in your own creative twists for the best results!

***************************

Now, although we consider it a bummer that you really shouldn't use sweet artwork or hilarious sarcasm in a business thank you, it can be a good thing. Why is this? It's simple. The name of the game here is not necessarily to impress and touch someone's heart, but rather to be courteous, professional, and show respect. In that sense, it's a lot easier.

Be sure to start off with official letterhead if you have it. This can make even the most casual writing seem like a Fortune 500 company.

Next, start the top of the letter with the person's name and address. Be sure to use their full name. Skip a line, and on the next line, address the person you are thanking.

In business related letters, it's important to always start the letter by recapping exactly what circumstances you are talking about. This can be very important if the person you are showing gratitude to deals with a ton of people, and might not remember you right off the bat. A single line or two will jog their memories.

After recapping, thank them specifically for what they did. Do not be vague, as being specific will show attention to detail on your part, as well as help to paint a very vivid picture of exactly who you are.

Finally, close the letter off without going on too long. Remember, in the business world, time is money. Thank the person once more, and let them know you hope to see them again. Close the letter, and neatly tri-fold it into a normal sized envelope.
